Magill home tops list of most-viewed SA properties

A couple of years after attracting a huge international audience, a Magill home sold by TOOP+TOOP is back in the headlines.

The decidedly quirky home at 10 Melory Crescent attracted around 2.5 million views on realestate.com.au after it was first listed in 2019, mainly due to a cellar crammed with Halloween items like ghost mannequins, oversized bats and spiders.

It was clearly the most-viewed home on the property portal in South Australia over the past five years. The second-highest ranked property on the list, released this week, achieved 240,000 views.

The Magill home, which sold to a local buyer last year for $1.19m, featured on news services around the world and attracted massive crowds to open inspections.

“I’ve never seen a house as fascinating as this in 40 years,” Anthony Toop said at the time.

“The owner’s favourite pastime was crafting Halloween items … she just loved it and it’s why we’ve left them there. It’s pretty cool.”

While the Melory Crescent property was clearly the standout performer in terms of views, a beautiful home at 28 Howard Street, Collinswood also attracted its share of interest to give TOOP+TOOP its second home in the Top 10 list.
