Dreams become reality in College Park

Rob and Barb Edwards spent 15 years creating their magnificent College Park home.

Now they’re ready to let someone else enjoy the dream property at 32a Marlborough Street

The character-rich, quality-built residence that was inspired by the original St Peters Town Hall is unquestionably one of the finest properties in arguably Adelaide’s premier location.

The couple, who owned Décor Lighting in Norwood, are now semi-retired.

“Eventually we’ll downsize but our plan is to spend some time visiting family interstate,” Rob says.

“We’ve always been very passionate about this home – and I think it shows.

“It’s an architectural house that we’ve continually updated over the past 15 years. It’s very unique – traditional but with a modern twist.”

Boasting six bedrooms, five bathrooms and parking for up to eight vehicles, the home’s vast dimensions and top-of-the-range finishes provide the ultimate in family living.

The almost-endless list of features includes a stunning kitchen with Caesarstone benchtops, a suite of premium appliances, and a fully equipped butler's pantry.

The outside spaces are equally impressive. The superbly landscape north-oriented garden is a highlight, with its automated solar/gas-heated pool, covered al fresco terrace and a fully equipped outdoor kitchen.

There's also a remarkable entertainment/garaging space of more than 85m2 at the rear of the property that can house up to six cars, catering to one of Rob’s passions.

“I’m a car enthusiast … and I spent three years looking for a home near the city that could accommodate at least six cars. It was virtually impossible unless you were prepared to move further out,” he says.

The home’s location in the heart of prestigious College Park has also been a highlight for Rob and Barb.

“We’ve loved living on Marlborough Street,” Rob says.

“It’s a magnificent, wide street and it’s so easy to access the city. We often pop into the National Wine Centre and we also walk to the footy (at Adelaide Oval).

“The home really does offer a resort-style lifestyle.

“Everything we’ve put into the house has been top of the range. We haven’t cut any corners.

“It’s a special home.”
