Should I use professional photos when advertising my rental property?

Professional photography can significantly affect how long your property sits on the rental market.

Every day your property sits empty is costing you money. For example, if you have a property that leases for $450 per week, it is costing you $62.48 every day it sits vacant.

Professional photos draw more attention to your listing, resulting in more interest, enquiries, and applications from potential tenants.

This house spent 16 days vacant without professional photos. When re-advertised with high quality images, it leased in exactly half the time.

“It may cost a little more initially to have professional photos taken, but they pay for themselves in no time, as they can be used every time the property is re-let”, General Manager of Property Management, Jane Looker, said.

“You also attract better quality tenants with clean, crisp images that show the property in its best light.

“I advise all owners that advertising with professional images will increase your rental yield over the life of your property. Plus, if you ever decide to sell the property, you can use the images for the sale listing.

“We also can add virtual furniture, which helps create that emotional pull to invite the potential tenants to view and make the property their own.

“You only have to look at these images to understand the difference it makes to invest in quality images. The cost of photography is also a tax deduction.”
